Liverpool: Fans unhappy with Jordan Henderson over wayward shooting against Watford

A number of Liverpool fans on Twitter expressed their dissatisfaction with captain Jordan Henderson despite their team’s positive result today.

The Reds made it 16 wins out of 17 in the Premier League this season after they saw off the stern challenge of Watford to prevail with a 2-0 victory at Anfield, courtesy of a double from Mohamed Salah. [via liverpoolfc.com]

Henderson, who played in a defensive midfield role alongside Georginio Wijnaldum in a 4-2-3-1 formation (as per Sky Sports), had two shots during Liverpool’s latest victory but missed the target with both of them (as per WhoScored).

He sliced a loose ball well over the bar in the first half, as noted by the match report on liverpoolfc.com, and also failed to trouble Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster with his other effort in the game.

Henderson has scored just once in 22 games this season and his wayward shooting annoyed plenty of Liverpool fans on Twitter, with some comparing that attribute unfavourably to former Reds midfielder and captain Steven Gerrard, who frequently found the net with shots from outside the penalty area and scored 186 times for the Reds:
