Liverpool: Fans want Kai Havertz at Anfield after Bayer Leverkusen manager’s admission

Bayer Leverkusen manager Peter Bosz is prepared to lose young talent Kai Havertz next year, admitting in an interview to German publication SportBild that the player will decide his future.

Bosz told SportBild [via The Mirror]: “Of course I would like to keep him, just as I would have liked to keep Julian Brandt, for example.

“Kai is only 20 and still has room for improvement. I can help him there. But it is like this, at the end the player himself must feel when he is ready for the next step. Nobody can decide that for him.”

As reported by the print edition of SportBild [via Sport Witness] last month, Liverpool are among a plethora of European clubs to have shown an interest in the 20-year-old playmaker, who has been valued at more than €100m (£88.76m) by his club. German media outlet Sport 1 had also linked the Reds with a possible move for Havertz in August.

These Liverpool fans on Twitter are hoping that Havertz will move to Anfield next year following Bosz’s admission about the player’s future, with one even asking for Mohamed Salah to be sacrificed if it would help the German’s prospects of joining the Reds:
