Liverpool fans will absolutely love what some of the game’s best broadcasters had to say on Saturday, as both Des Kelly and Jim Beglin blasted calls from Karren Brady to cancel the Premier League season.
Just when you thought the West Ham leadership couldn’t distance themselves any further from the every day fan, Brady has called for the 2019/20 Premier League campaign to be made null and void in light of recent events. Via The Guardian, the Hammers’ vice-chair admitted it would be a “huge blow to Liverpool” and even said it would “rob” the Reds of their title, but insisted there is simply no others solution if the players cannot play the games.
BT Sport broadcasters Kelly and Beglin were quickly on the scene to lambast the verdict, with Kelly calling Brady’s words “shameless” while Beglin simply added “what a muppet”.
What a muppet.

Of course, there is good reason for Brady to want the season cancelled, with West Ham sitting above the relegation zone on goal difference with some of the worst form in the league, winning just once in their last nine league matches. Liverpool meanwhile sit 25 points clear at the top and need just six points to clinch their title, which is why Reds fans will absolutely love the comments from Kelly and Beglin.
