Liverpool hopeful of securing major agreement before World Cup, star keen on future at Anfield

The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern haven’t stopped signing Mo Salah’s name all season. Indeed, while the Egyptian’s arrival on Merseyside was a fairly unheralded one when he first joined the club, 43 goals in one season has silenced all doubters, as well as endearing him to our resident Reds.

With that in mind, suggestions (albeit dubious ones) that he could join Real Madrid this summer have proven really rather unwelcome amongst our local Kopites. Which is exactly why claims from Bleacher Report that sources close to the club have told them the former Roma man could pen a new deal imminently have gone down a storm.

Indeed, it’s understood that top brass in the North West are preparing to offer Salah a much-improved deal on his current £90k-p/w agreement and it’s seemingly hopefully a deal that can be reached before the World Cup. The player himself is believed to be set on staying with Liverpool after enjoying his best season to date, absolutely delighting our local Liverpudlians.

Landlord’s Verdict:

Salah is perfect for Liverpool and Liverpool is perfect for Salah. The winger should stick around and lead what could be the Reds’ closest ever title challenge next season before even thinking about a move elsewhere, so signing a new deal early in the summer is the best way to end speculation and focus on next season.
