Liverpool hopeful over £4m deal for record breaking striker, major decision imminent

It’s never nice seeing a promising young player leave your club after investing so much time and hope in them.

Still, the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have met reports in the Liverpool Echo that the club are holding out hope of receiving up to £4m for Jerome Sinclair with delight.

The 19-year old joined Watford earlier this week and will make his move to Hertfordshire official on July 1st, upon the expiration of his deal with the Reds.

While he struggled to break the first-team at Anfield under both Brendan Rodgers and Jurgen Klopp, he did break a record on Merseyside by becoming their youngest ever player at the tender age of 16.

Despite him leaving on a free, the club are reportedly hopeful the £4m bid for him by Bournemouth (a move he showed no interest in) back in January will help convince a tribunal they are due a similar fee.

Liverpool fans, would you rather have seen Sinclair develop at Anfield?
