The Football Transfer Tavern has been a busy place today, after what has been a relatively quiet week in a mad summer transfer window, everyone has saved their dealings for Friday, and another story that has made it’s way to the staff in the bar today is that Liverpool have entered talks concerning one of their long-serving midfielders.
According to reports from The Mirror, Galatasary have declared an interest in bringing Liverpool midfielder, Lucas Leiva to Turkey.
Reds boss, Jurgen Klopp hasn’t held back in his summer overhaul of his squad, and the Brazilian international could be another victim, with the Turkish side offering a fee of £2.5m.
The 29-year-old’s stock has fallen slightly over the past couple of years, however, he has played a fairly prominent role in pre-season so far, therefore it would appear the decision may be left open to him as whether he wants to stay and fight for a place or not.
The central midfielder moved to Anfield from his native Brazil in 2007 and has gone on to make over 300 appearances for the club since.
Liverpool fans, we want to hear from you! Would you be sad to see Lucas leave? What impact would it have on the squad if he decided to move on? Let us know below…
