With the Champions League final left to play and another Premier League season where, despite challenging and ending up with nothing again, Liverpool will soon be turning their attention to the transfer window.
It will be an interesting few weeks for supporters who will be keen to see what Jurgen Klopp does to improve a team that on paper looks hard to make any better, but a big theme with the rumours as of late has been signing young players who can one day play in the first-team.
Plenty of young and exciting players have been rumoured with a move to Liverpool, and according to Calcio Mercato via Sport Witness, the Reds are in the lead for the race for the signing of 16-year-old FC Lausanne-Sport youngster Joel Ribeiro.
The Swiss teenager has been impressive for the club’s youth side this season and has put up impressive numbers for the national team over the years, and Ribeiro, who has a Portuguese passport, has caught the eye of the Reds as well as teams in Italy.
At 16 and already impressing big teams around the continent, Ribeiro is a player who clearly has a big future in the game, and this summer Liverpool should be doing all they can to sign up the promising midfielder, who is available on a free this summer.
Not only will it send a sign of intent from Liverpool to teams around Europa that they’re willing to go big on recruiting some of the biggest names in youth football but will also give Ribeiro the perfect team and environment to grow and learn the game at.
Liverpool fans, should the club sign Ribeiro this summer? Let us know!
