We have finally received some good news in the footballing world as the Premier League has officially confirmed that they are committed to finding ways of resuming the 2019/20 football season as soon as it is safe and possible to do so.
They have also confirmed that the English top-flight should return no later than 30 April, providing good news for fans up and down the country. In other words, once the whole situation amidst the recent events blows over somewhat, the current campaign should be resumed and we’ll get to see titles lifted, teams promoted and for some, unfortunately, it’s bound to mean relegation.
The Daily Mirror’s Chief Football Writer and author, John Cross, took to Twitter to say the most important thing about this whole announcement, however, is the fact that Liverpool will be champions sooner rather than later given their 25-point lead in the Premier League.
But most important thing to take from the (virtual) meeting at Premier League HQ is the determination to finish the season. It won’t get voided now. Liverpool will be champions, Champs League places decided together with relegation and promotion 🤞👏🙏 pic.twitter.com/5wrgKNfJNC
