Liverpool join transfer tussle for impressive 24-year-old

One Manchester United fan bought our resident chef here at the Transfer Tavern a Liverpool-branded colander for Christmas referencing the Reds’ letting in of goals at the wrong end, which irked a number of Kopites.

Although they were angry at this jibe, it was not one they could truly argue with, with the Merseysiders’ famous 2013/14 title pursuit derailed by their shipping of 50, while in the two following campaigns their defence was breached 98 times.

So this is, perhaps, why they are now interested in Burnley’s Michael Keane, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

It’s understood that Jurgen Klopp is keen to add another central defender to his ranks this summer, with his current rearguard options having been exposed this term by Lucas filling in in the role.

Keane has enjoyed an excellent season with the Clarets, winning more aerial duels (108) than any other defender in the Premier League.

However, the Daily Mail claim that Liverpool’s bitter rivals Everton are leading the race.

Michael Keane is the ideal centre-back for Liverpool – agree?
