Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to seeing what their side can do in the Premier League this season.
The men from Anfield have had a fairly decent summer window with Andy Robertson joining Dom Solanke and Mo Salah from earlier on in the market as they prepare for a tilt at the league crown.
Our local Reds punters, though, are certainly eager to see a few more signings come in whilst the club is also still in the midst of speculation surrounding Philippe Coutinho.
The Brazilian magician could be on his way to Barcelona before the end of the window – though nothing has been agreed – and in that eventuality the Reds would surely need a replacement.
According to The Mirror, then, the club already has a contingency plan sorted with Christian Pulisic apparently the man to replace Coutinho if he goes.
The young American winger has got plenty of talent and potential with him excelling at Dortmund at the moment but it would be a big ask for him to step into Coutinho’s shoes for sure.
For now, then, the Reds are hoping the Brazilian stays.
Pulisic is a top young player but he is not yet at the level that Coutinho is at at the moment.
The Brazilian is key to Liverpool’s style of play and though the American would surely provide some spark, he wouldn’t be as integral.
The Reds, then, had better hope that they can keep Coutinho for this season coming.
