If Liverpool are to win the Premier League title this season, their attacking trio will be one of the major factors for the feat.
Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino have for the past two seasons been one of the best front-threes in world football, contributing to 61 of Liverpool’s 79 goals in all competitions this campaign alone, so the thought of this attacking line getting better sounds like a terrifying prospect for teams in both the Premier League and on the continent.
And according to the Mirror, this death wish could become a reality as Liverpool now reportedly stand as one of the favourites to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic this summer with Bayern Munich no longer interested in the Serbian, but FSG may have to splash out as he’s valued at £49.5 million (by Transfermarkt).
The Bosnia-born attacker has been one of the breakout players in football this season, scoring 25 goals and assisting another five in 42 games for the Bundesliga side and guiding the rising German side to 4th in the league table and booking Adi Hutter’s side into the Europa League semi-final.
Jovic has the current ability to flourish in the Premier League with room to grow into one of the most lethal strikers in world football, and for Liverpool, the Serbian international could be the best, and only possible, upgrade on Firmino.
Firmino’s role in the Liverpool is so specific and unique that only a handful of strikers in football today can, being the spearhead of the attack whilst also having a hand in the majority of chances that the front-three create, and in Jovic, the Reds will have someone who can take over the Brazilian at the club.
Jovic has what it takes to replace Firmino at the club as not only do the two have a similar playing style, but the Serbian has what it takes to take the role the Liverpool number nine currently has in the team to a new level.
Liverpool have one of the best front-threes in world football, and in Jovic, they will have a player who can take the team to a new level of prolific and dangerous.
