Ahead of their crunch clash with bitter city rivals Everton tonight, the Liverpool fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern have been calming their nerves.
While it’s largely been a truly barnstorming season for the Reds to enjoy, there’s been somewhat of a blip recently and the form of league leaders Chelsea makes tonight’s game at Anfield a must win.
So, as you can well imagine, many of our locals are a tad nervous.
That’s exactly why reports from ESPN Brazil have proved exciting, taking the Kop faithful’s minds off tonight.
They claim Jurgen Klopp’s side have made a proposal to bring highly-rated Brazilian Thiago Maia to the club.
Previously, the likes of Chelsea have been linked with a move for the 19-year-old midfielder, who has impressed for Santos in his homeland.
He was part of the Selecao side that won Olympic Gold this summer and it’s thought European powerhouses such as Zenit, Napoli and AS Monaco are also understood to be keen.
How much of a coup would Maia be? Let us know below…
