Liverpool make record-breaking ace transfer priority, long-term plan in place

Liverpool have made Fulham’s 16-year-old left-back Ryan Sessegnon one of their transfer priorities this summer, which really has caused a buzz in the Reds’ booth here in the Transfer Tavern.

Speculation surrounding the Merseysiders’ business for the coming window has been plentiful of late amid reports that Jurgen Klopp could be given up to £200m to spend.

Cadena SER have revealed that Atletico Madrid’s Theo Hernandez has been approached and offered a huge contract by Liverpool, but Goal claim that no proposal has been submitted and that Sessegnon is the player they want instead.

The teenager has emerged as one of the most highly-rated footballers in the Championship this term, becoming the division’s youngest-ever goalscorer in the process, and the Anfield outfit see him as a long-term option.

A host of other top Premier League clubs want Sessegnon, too, but The Times’ Paul Joyce has also provided an update on the situation, hinting that Liverpool are at the front of the queue for the starlet and that he would play a back-up role to James Milner in the immediate future should he head to the club.

Ryan Sessegnon is ready to play in the Premier League – agree?
