Liverpool have been in fine fettle, yet Jurgen Klopp will be persistent in wanting his team to continue the hard work they’ve put in this season.
That has been testament to not only the superb performances on the pitch but also the work of the management staff and their business in the summer which has led to their improvement.
Yet there is still belief that Liverpool could be even better and by improving their squad depth, it gives them a greater chance of success in the near future.
Despite their defence proving a lot stronger this season, it only takes an injury to tear apart a promising campaign.
With this in mind, recruiting a youngster like Athletic Bilbao’s Unai Nunez is a great idea.
Nunez, who is valued at £13.5 million on Transfermarkt, is a defender in that could prove to be a brilliant addition, if he is given more chances this season to promote his capabilities.
Last season, the 21-year-old was a prominent fixture in Bilbao’s starting 11 but after making just two league appearances so far this campaign, a move away maybe the best idea.
Understandably, there is no room for him immediately in the centre-back role with the likes of Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez occupying that very well.
However, with Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip proving to be unreliable at times for the Reds, they may gift the youngster a chance to thrive instead, with one eye on the future of Liverpool Football Club.
