Our Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been looking forward to this summer window for some time as they know just how important it could be for Jurgen Klopp and their team.
The Anfield side had a decent 2016/17 and providing that they get through the Champions League play-offs they will be in the group stage of the premier European competition.
Signings, then, have to be a must for Jurgen Klopp and his men and whilst we wait to see who he brings in, we reckon he should go for Tiemoue Bakayoko of Monaco.
When you consider that the club needs plenty of areas improved they certainly need another, powerful holding midfielder to add some steel to the centre of the park.
Indeed, only Emre Can can do that most defensive of roles in midfield and whilst Jordan Henderson can also play there as a more creative option – neither really dominate their opponent.
Of course, they can hold their own physically but Liverpool need a properly powerful option to dominate other team’s midfielders.
Bakayoko, then, would be the ideal man to come in and do that with his displays at Monaco last season highlighting how good he is.
Indeed, he is a league winner and a Champions League experienced star at the age of 22 suggesting that he should only get better.
He could, then, provide one of the final pieces Liverpool need to really challenge back at the top of the Premier League.
