Liverpool open talks regarding deal for talented playmaker

Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have ordered a celebratory pint after hearing the latest gossip, which suggests their side is set to secure the future of a key-player at Anfield.

The Liverpool Echo states Jurgen Klopp has opened negotiations with Philippe Coutinho regarding a new deal, as the club look to ensure their prized asset remains on Merseyside.

24-year-old Coutinho has excelled since arriving in the Premier League from Inter Milan and, whilst his current contract runs until 2020, Liverpool are looking to offer an improved deal to the Brazilian in order to fend off long-term interest from Barcelona.

Liverpool will not place a buy-out clause in a lucrative new deal for Coutinho, who recently returned from injury, as they intend to keep the influential midfielder at the club for the foreseeable future; having identified the fact he’s one of the finest talents in the Premier League.

Our landlord is adamant that this is a huge deal for Jurgen Klopp’s side and is keen to see the negotiations go through successfully, as he enjoys seeing Coutinho shine in English football.
