Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will be turning their head to their Champions League second-leg against Premier League rivals Manchester City, however, a number of punters will be wondering what to make of the latest news coming out of the club.
Jurgen Klopp’s side has a three-goal advantage over Pep Guardiola’s team heading into the match at the Etihad Stadium and many will be hoping that is enough to get them into the semi-finals of the competition.
Fans in the Tavern will also be looking at the club’s summer transfer activity with the hopes that the Anfield side will strengthen their team, however, reports indicated that Marouane Fellaini is not on their radar.
The Daily Mail is claiming that the Belgium international is not wanted by the Reds, as they have become interested in other midfielders that would suit their style of play. It was said that the former Everton player was to be offered a three-year deal to join the other Merseyside outfit.
The Reds, though, are reportedly looking elsewhere and our local Kopites are delighted about that fact, as you can well imagine.
The Liverpool fans in the Tavern will be pleased that a former Goodison Park and Old Trafford man is not going to be making the switch to Anfield, with a number of punters not convinced by what Fellaini could offer them in the future. Indeed, with the news that the club are looking elsewhere for midfield signings, our local Kopites are dreaming about who could partner Naby Keita this summer.
