It’s safe to say that life for Liverpool Football Club is pretty good at the moment.
The Reds are heading into pre-season on the back of a sixth Champions League trophy as well as their best season ever in the Premier League where Liverpool took the race for the title all way down to the final day.
Life is good for Liverpool, so it is no surprise that recent signing Sepp van den Berg wants to be a part of what is happening at Anfield right now. The same, however, does not appear to be the case for Rafael Camacho, who has called it time at the Merseyside giants and made a return back to Sporting Lisbon on a permanent deal via the Reds’ official website.
The Portuguese youngster has been critical of Jurgen Klopp’s use of his skill when Camacho played for the first-team. The winger only made one start for the senior squad last season in an FA Cup match against Wolves, where the 19-year-old started at right-back, and after scoring a hat-trick against Leicester City in Premier League 2 the former Manchester City youth academy product hit out at the Liverpool boss on Instagram.
Camacho posted: “I do not know whose idea it is, but I will prove that they are mistaken about my football. I’m not a right defender, I’m an attacker who scores goals. This is my DNA.”, and after scoring 12 goals and assisting five in the youth teams last season, the winger might have a good point.
The 19-year-old becomes the latest player to leave Anfield this summer, with Daniel Sturridge and Alberto Moreno already out the exit door via Liverpool’s official website as Klopp aims to move on some of the deadwood this transfer window.
Liverpool fans, are the club wrong to sell Camacho? Let us know!
