Liverpool ramp up attempts to audaciously land £30m Man United from Premier League rivals

While the loss against Sevilla in the Europa League final saw the season end on a sour note for the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern, the excitement for a whole summer under the stewardship of Jurgen Klopp is palpable.

The former Borussia Dortmund coach is undoubtedly improving things on the training pitch, though naturally much of the talk centres around the notion of big name arrivals on Merseyside.

Having already kicked off his revolution with perhaps more understated signings, the Reds are reportedly ready to rock the Premier League.

According to the Sun, Klopp is ready to raid Southampton once more by making a £30m bid for Sadio Mane in the coming days.

The speedy Senegalese has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United after impressing on the South Coast, though the Anfield giants are understood to have moved ahead in the race to land him.

It is claimed the club are ready to pay £25m up front for the former Red Bull Salzburg man, with further payments coming over incentive based add ons.

Liverpool have had a chequered past in prizing players away from St. Mary’s in recent seasons, after seeing the likes of Rickie Lambert and Dejan Lovren fail to wholly convince.

Is Mane consistent enough to be a starter at Liverpool?
