Liverpool ready shock cut price £8m move for ex-Real Madrid midfielder

Parejo

It’s Happy Hour for the Liverpool fans knocking about the Transfer Tavern this afternoon as they eagerly read reports in Spanish publication Fichajes their beloved club is readying a move for Valencia ace Dani Parejo.

Stripped of the captaincy by Gary Neville after a frustrating run of form with Los Che, the talented Spanish midfielder is claimed to be a target of Jurgen Klopp’s as the summer transfer window looms.

The Reds are reportedly aiming to capitalise on the upheaval expected in the summer at the Spanish giants by making a cut-price £8m move for a player previously regarded as somewhat of a talisman with the club.

A graduate of the Real Madrid academy, the 26-year old has some previous plying his trade on these shores after a relatively ill-fated loan spell with Queens Park Rangers back in 2008.

The former Spanish Under-21 international can operate as a deep-lying playmaker, a role that currently looks a little light on personnel at Anfield.

Legendary skipper Steven Gerrard of course departed for the MLS in the summer, while none of the current crop of midfield stars are able to naturally occupy such a role.

Major changes are expected on Merseyside this summer, as the former Borussia Dortmund coach begins to truly stamp his authority.

Is Parejo the right man to kick start Klopp’s summer of change? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
