Liverpool receive huge news ahead of the Champions League final

Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will have been boosted with some positive news ahead of their Champions League final on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will head to Kiev where they will play Real Madrid for the biggest prize in European football, and he will likely be feeling more confident of his side’s chances of lifting the trophy in Ukraine.

And that’s because, according to Ben Dinnery on Twitter, who is a freelance injury data analyst, the Reds will be able to call upon both James Milner and Emre Can for the clash with the La Liga giants at the weekend.

Milner has overcome a minor muscle injury and will be available for the clash with Los Blancos, whilst Can has also managed to recover from his back issue just in time.

And this update is sure to come as great news to manager Klopp, as things looked precarious in the midfield ranks given the injuries to the aforementioned duo, alongside the extended absence of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Landlord’s Verdict: The Reds in the Tavern will be delighted that both players have managed to recover in time of their biggest match of the season, and as such will be feeling good about their chances of winning the tournament.

The locals would have been sweating on the fitness of Milner, who has proven to be a solid servant to Liverpool since he has been at Anfield, as he can play in a number of different positions for Klopp’s side.

The punters in the bar will be pleased that Can is available, especially with injuries to other midfield options. However, they will be cautious about him playing as he has not appeared for the Reds since the middle of March, and is set to complete a move to Juventus in the coming days.
