It turned out to be a fairly frustrating weekend for the Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern, who were gutted to see Willian grab a point for Chelsea late on at Anfield deep into Saturday’s clash.
Indeed, our resident Reds were seriously annoyed about the fact Jurgen Klopp’s men squandered yet another lead just days after THAT collapse away in Seville. With that in mind, at least reports from BILD (via the Daily Mail) have cheered up our local Kopites a tad.
According to their report, Borussia Dortmund will consider selling striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer. Despite the Gabon international’s wonderfully prolific form for the German giants, he was recently suspended by the club and has reportedly been blamed for their collapse to rivals Schalke, a game in which they threw away a four-goal lead.
The 28-year-old was sent off with his team still in control and Dortmund boss Pete Bosz claimed his star man ‘ruined everything’, so his time in the Bundesliga could be up. Indeed, Klopp worked with the former St. Etienne for a season with Dortmund, having signed him in 2013, though Chelsea are also believed to be keen.
While Roberto Firmino is a very good central option in Liverpool’s fluid front three, Aubameyang would obviously be an improvement. He’s so quick and lethal, though can lead a line, so the idea of seeing him flanked with Mo Salah and Sadio Mane is a tantalising one.
