Liverpool supporters have been in fine voice in the Transfer Tavern this week after seeing their side reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2009 with a routine 5-0 aggregate success over Porto.
Jurgen Klopp’s men went into the return leg at Anfield earlier this week having thumped the Portuguese heavyweights 5-0 in the first leg three weeks ago, thus all but sealing their place in the last eight. And the Reds got the job done against the Primeira Liga leaders on Tuesday night with a 0-0 draw on Merseyside, thus returning the five-times champions to the quarter-finals for the first time in nine years, at the same firmly firing them into contention for the title once again.
Subsequently, there have been many thrilled Liverpudlians in the Tavern in recent times, several of whom are likely to be interested by a recent report from O Jogo, which suggests that they are one of many sides readying a raid on Manchester City for attacking wonderkid Javairo Dilrosun.
The 19-year-old began his youth career with Dutch giants Ajax but made the move to the North West back in 2014, for whom he has slowly made his up through the various age groups to become a regular for their Under-23 side.
And with three assists in ten Premier League 2 matches this term, the attacker continues to go from strength to strength, yet his contract is due to expire at City in the summer, and as such several sides are reportedly monitoring the situation ahead of a possible move during the close season.
And one of those reportedly are Klopp’s Liverpool, with the German seemingly seeking to bolster his ranks for the long term to set the club up for an extremely bright future under his stewardship.
Landlord’s verdict: Javairo Dilrosun made the move to Manchester City back in 2014 as a 16-year-old, and has since progressed through the ranks at the Etihad Stadium to regularly turn out for the club’s development squad.
But the 19-year-old’s contract expires in the summer and as such a move looks to be in the offing, and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are one team reportedly keen on raiding their Premier League rivals for the attacker’s services.
And with the future looking bright at Anfield under the former Borussia Dortmund boss, landing Dilrosun would be another nod to the long term, in news which is only likely to excite and indeed delight several of our resident Liverpudlians.
