There’s little doubt the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are praying for defensive reinforcements, so reports linking one of their best away are somewhat concerning for our Merseyside locals.
Mamadou Sakho has been linked with a move to Roma since controversially being sent home from the Reds’ tour in America after seemingly doing his best to annoy Jurgen Klopp.
While the Frenchman’s agent has moved to suggest I Giallorossi do not quite have the funds available to deal with the former PSG man, reports in Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness) hint at otherwise.
They claim that club representatives are ready to jet out to the US in order to hold talks with the Merseyside giants over the notion of a loan move, with an option to buy.
Those in the Italian capital are understood to have identified the 26-year old as a versatile option to bolster their backline at the Stadio Olimpico.
Will Sakho be at Liverpool next season? Should he be kept on? Let us know below…
