Liverpool set to pip Arsenal to signing of promising £8m starlet, will leave Leicester despite scintillating title win

Leicester City may have won the most amazing league title in the history of English football last night, though the Liverpool supporters in the Transfer Tavern are already (jokingly) trying to put one over the Foxes.

As well as Arsenal. Though that’s not been too hard a task of late.

That’s following reports in Goal that the Reds are increasingly confident of pipping the Gunners to Foxes full-back Ben Chilwell this summer.

Despite missing out to Christian Fuchs for most of the season, the 19-year old is a highly rated talent and has trained with the England senior squad at St. George’s Park.

Having excelled on loan at Huddersfield, Arsene Wenger is believed to have been keen on the talented teen, though he is understood to prefer a move to Anfield.

Left-back has proved to be somewhat of a difficult berth for the Merseyside giants, with Alberto Moreno failing to truly convince in the role.

It is claimed Liverpool are expecting to tie up an £8m deal to bring him to the club this summer, which is said to include add ons due to the fact he will be entering the final year of his deal at the King Power.

How big a talent is Chilwell? Quite the coup for Liverpool?
