Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern seem to think their side have solved their left-back woes with the signing of Andrew Robertson.
The Scotland international arrived from Hull City last week.
Liverpool had opted to use James Milner in an unfamiliar full-back role for much of the campaign, following Jurgen Klopp’s doubts over the suitability of Alberto Moreno as a regular starter.
Robertson has shown classy consistency since emerging in the Hull side in 2014. That’s despite the North East club yo-yoing between the Premier League and the Championship in recent seasons.
However, Aaron Cresswell is another bold left-back who has been impressing at West Ham. After arriving from Ipswich in 2014, the Englishman has gone on to represent the East Londoners over 100 times in the league.
Cresswell is tidy on the ball, possesses a pin-point cross and does not dive into tackles. Last season, the 27-year-old sent social media into meltdown after appearing to touch the ‘This is Anfield’ sign.
But unfortunately so far for the Scouser and Liverpool fan he has not been presented the opportunity to swap the London Stadium for Anfield this summer.
Liverpool fans, we want to hear from you! Would you have preferred to have Cresswell in the ranks? Let us know in the comments!
