Liverpool should make move for £17.1m-rated dynamo to move towards title challenge ASAP

Most of the Liverpool fans in the Tavern have deserted us as they start their journeys to Ukraine with the Champions League final just around the corner.

After knocking out Porto, Manchester City and Roma, the Reds will meet Real Madrid in the final of the competition looking to add their sixth European Cup to the trophy cabinet. Regardless of the result in Kyiv, Liverpool will be playing Champions League football at Anfield next season after securing a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Our punters are excited now the transfer window is officially open as Liverpool could be set to spend big. Their progress in the Champions League will see them receive a windfall in prize money, coupled with the lucrative Premier League TV money and the funds from Philippe Coutinho’s sale to Barcelona – Jurgen Klopp will have a transfer war chest to play with.

Squad depth is a huge issue on Merseyside and will prove to be a problem if injuries mount up next year; Klopp must address it this summer. One man he should sign is Benfica midfielder – Anderson Talisca – who has spent the past two seasons on loan at Besiktas. He was in fine form last season, scoring 20 goals and notching eight assists in all competitions.

The season before, Talisca also netted an impressive 17 goals highlighting the threat he poses from midfield. Valued at £17.1m by Transfermarkt, he would be an astute piece of business. While the Premier League would be a huge step up, he has all the right attributes to succeed and has been likened to Yaya Toure in the past.

Still only 24-years-old, Klopp would be able to improve the Brazilian even more and make him a Premier League star.
