‘Liverpool, sign him up’ – Reds fans call for emotional signing

Dirk Kuyt is a player Liverpool fans love, and here in the Transfer Tavern there’s even a poster of the Dutchman hung over the Reds’ booth.

While the attacker didn’t quite live up to the goal-getting strike star tag many bestowed on him before his 2006 move to Anfield from Feyenoord, he developed into a solid figure of the Rafa Benitez era, becoming an able right-sided midfielder, while scoring some big goals along the way.

Back at Feyenoord and netting regularly for the Rotterdam side despite being 36-years-old, Liverpool supporters still follow Kuyt’s every move, so a video of his son he tweeted on the weekend gained a lot of attention…

Five-year-old Aidan Kuyt scored a goal even his father would have been proud of while playing for his youth side, running the length of the pitch before shooting past the keeper.

And, fans took to Twitter after seeing it, calling, tongue in cheek (well, hopefully), for the club to lure him to the academy…

Although it was a great goal to watch, some have pointed out the lack of quality from the goalie…
