Our local Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are still thanking their lucky stars that their beloved Reds were just about able to progress at the expense of Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup last night.
There’s a slight concern growing amongst our Merseyside drinkers that things have been stalling of late, so the fact there’s now some transfer news to sink their teeth into has served as a welcome distraction for the Kopites propping up the bar.
According to Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol, the Anfield giants have SNUBBED a loan offer from Southampton for defender Mamadou Sakho and are reportedly holding for a £20m permanent deal for the Frenchman. After falling out with Jurgen Klopp, the 26-year-old’s future with the club he joined back in 2013 looks bleak.

Despite proving to be one of the most popular players amongst our punters last term, the Liverpool lovers in the bar feel the arrival of Joel Matip has pushed the ex-PSG ace out of the squad altogether, though are shocked to hear the club value Sakho at £20m.
