Liverpool stalwart closing in on shock move £6m to Euro giants after Euro 2016

Skrtel

After a formidable performance against England at Euro 2016, the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been wondering where that Martin Skrtel has been over the past few months.

The Anfield stalwart has lost his place in the starting lineup under Jurgen Klopp and has been linked with moves to Turkey in recent months.

However, according to the Sun, the imposing central defender could be set for a shock move to Italian giants Inter Milan this summer instead.

After a number of seasons struggling in mid-table, the Nerazzurri have been the subject of a colossal Chinese takeover, affording manager Roberto Mancini cash to splash at the San Siro.

Having signed Joel Matip for his Reds revolution already, Klopp is believed to be asking for around £6m for the 31-year old former Zenit St. Petersburg man.

Now, his agent has confirmed that there is a chance his client could make a move to Serie A over the course of the summer.

“We’ll know something more soon, in the next few days I think”, Karol Csonto told FCInterNews.

“There are several great teams interested in the player, including Inter which is a distinct possibility. Martin is a great player.

“Roberto Mancini? We’re talking about a great coach, but as I said, we have to wait. Not much longer, but we have to wait.”

Should Skrtel be kept on as a squad option next season?
