There’s not been much to shout about in regards to the English national side of late, some of the punters in the Transfer Tavern have been in fits of laughter.

The 27-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best in the Premier League, though his performance last night against Slovenia has been lamented.

In reference to the infamous Alan Partridge sketch, the former Chelsea forward’s lack of passing last night has been poked fun at.

When England managed to find themselves in good positions, Sturridge failed to involve his teammates, instead preferring to shoot and kill all momentum.
He was hauled off for Marcus Rashford in the closing stages of the game, widely criticised for his selfishness.
