Liverpool star set on massive move, has even rebuffed another approach

Philippe Coutinho is a player Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern absolutely love, but there have been worries for a while now that he may be tempted away by one of Spain’s big two: Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Given his rise to become the Reds’ key man and the trend of the club’s biggest players moving away to join some of the world’s elite teams, this school of thought is somewhat logical, and Don Balon have provided an interesting update.

The Spanish outlet claim that Real have already made a tentative approach to the 24-year-old, only to be told that he has his heart set on Barca instead.

Coutinho, who signed a new contract at Anfield over the winter, is believed to be keen to link-up with long-term friend and compatriot Neymar at the Nou Camp.

Don Balon’s claims somewhat corroborate with the Mirror’s revelation that the Merseyside hero is being looked to as a potential successor to Blaugrana idol Andres Iniesta.
