When Liverpool announced the signing of Alisson from Roma, fans knew the club had acquired a superstar.
The then record-transfer for a goalkeeper has been a game changer for the Reds, who head into the final league game of the season with the chance of winning the Premier League and have a second consecutive Champions League final to look forward to, and there is a good debate to be made that Alisson has been the difference maker.
A world-class pair of hands in between the sticks has made Liverpool one of the best teams in the continent, and now it is emerging that Jurgen Klopp could be set to make yet another signing that could top the Alisson one.
According to Euro United, Liverpool have reached a contractual agreement with Lyon over the signing of midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, who has been one of the most sought after players in world football for the past two seasons.
The 22-year-old, who has been likened to Chelsea and France star N’Golo Kante, would be the final piece in Jurgen Klopp’s team should the Reds acquire the midfielder this summer.
His ability to roam as a defensive and box-to-box midfielder, as well as a creative powerhouse, have made him an elusive target for many teams over Europe, and Ndombele joining the likes of Naby Keita and Fabinho in the Liverpool midfield would have as big an impact on the team as Alisson did when the Brazilian joined the club.
Liverpool have the funds and the ambition to complete their squad, and in Ndombele, he would be the final piece in the puzzle.
Liverpool fans, would Ndombele be a bigger signing than Alisson this summer? Let us know!
