Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping their side can go all the way in the Champions League after progressing to the semi-finals of the tournament, although a number of the locals will be interested in the news of a former player.
AC Milan star Suso has reinvented himself since leaving the Anfield outfit five years ago and has become one of the Rossoneri’s key men. The performances of the 24-year-old have been of a high-quality, that the Reds are once again interested in bringing him back to Merseyside.
Reports in Italy are claiming that should Liverpool want to bring him back to the Premier League, they would need to meet a minimum fee to trigger a release clause in the Spanish attacker’s contract.
However, Calcio Mercato are claiming it would only cost Jurgen Klopp’s side 40million euros to take him away from the San Siro, which is a figure that is not considered ridiculous in today’s game. He has performed well since being at AC Milan, having scored eight goals and provided five assists in all competitions, whilst being one of their better players in the Milan derby.
Linked with a return to Anfield, that fee is relatively low for a club such as Liverpool and, having lost Philippe Coutinho in January, the punters propping up our bar wouldn’t mind seeing the money splashed out on him.
Many Liverpool fans in the Tavern will not have had Suso on their radar to return to the club after his first spell at Anfield, however, the 24-year-old will have been able to show his ability at the San Siro and give many punters a thought of whether he would be a potential signing in the summer.
