ESPN journalist Mark Ogden has suggested that Liverpool are an attractive proposition for any player as he discussed the possibility of members of Manchester City’s squad wanting to leave the Etihad amid the club’s Champions League ban.
Liverpool are just five wins away from the Premier League title, and Ogden believes the position the Reds find themselves in has given them real power in the transfer window. Speaking on Sky Sports’ Sunday Supplement, he said: “If Liverpool put a bid in for Kevin De Bruyne as Premier League champions and potential Champions League winners, how do Manchester City stop Kevin De Bruyne being interested in a move to Liverpool?
“Liverpool now are the best team in England, the best team in Europe and attractive proposition for any player,” Ogden later added. A hypothetical, of course. But be it De Bruyne, Jadon Sancho or Timo Werner, you would have to imagine it would be hard to say no to Jurgen Klopp in this moment of time.
Would any player turn down Liverpool?
He has made the Reds European champions and is about to lead them to their first Premier League title. And given how far they are from everyone else with their 25-point gap at the top, perhaps even more Premier League triumphs could be on the cards.
Who could possibly say no to that? Indeed, Klopp has the perfect pitch to entice any player looking for success to Anfield.
Liverpool fans, do you think Klopp is capable of luring any player he wants to the club? Join the discussion by commenting below!
