With Liverpool travelling to Russia for their second leg meeting with Anzhi, Rodgers will be hoping that his fringe men will be able to keep hold of the one nil advantage they have going in to this game and hopefully secure their place in the next stages by further enhancing their lead.
With several key players missing the from the side, Brendan Rodgers is taking a bit of a gamble with this game. Liverpool are currently top of group A. However with Anzhi and Udinese not far behind, Liverpool won’t want to be giving away any advantage. Looking at the side that Brendan Rodgers has put out, I think the side is defensively solid. However what I think be lacking will be further up the pitch, so it will interesting to see how the midfield and strikers do, particularly youngster Yesil.
I don’t think this you can be expecting to see more than one goal in this match, after seeing the previous game. Liverpool as we all know lack forward players and Anzhi looked destitute, as Eto looked to try and do anything. In the last couple of games Liverpool’s youngster have looked tired which is why I believe the Score will be 1-0 to Anzhi, leaving Rodgers with a real headache when he has to pick his side for the next Europa League game.
Provisional Liverpool squad: Jones, Wisdom, Carragher, Coates, Robinson, Shelvey, Henderson, Cole, Downing, Yesil, Assaidi, Gulacsi, Ward, Flanagan, Sama, Wilson, Coady, Suso, Morgan.
