Liverpool v Swansea: The Player Ratings

Renia : Man of the match. Kept his team in the game, whilst also shown his commitment to club ad-mist speculation  by going into a 50/50 challenge with Dyer. Score 8.5.

Johnson: Got caught to much in possession, didn’t know when to pass the ball. Albeit some chances came about from this. Score 6.5.

Skrtel: Was one of the contenders for man of the match in my book. Looked calm and composed on the ball, I’ve said it before but I think he’s coming on leaps and bounds under Brendan. Score 8.0.

Agger: Solid as a rock. Score 7.5.

Downing: Although the player seemed to have regained some of his confidence, he neither provided any defensive stability or attacking flare. A performance that will surely move him closer to the exit door. Score 5.5.

Sterling: Unlucky not to score. Another fantastic contribution from the 17-year old. One of Liverpool’s bright sparks yet again. Score 7.5.

Allen: Tidy as always. You will be expecting a bit more once Lucas is back. Score 6.5.

Gerrard:  Orchestrated probably the best pass of the game, nothing we’ve not come to expect from the Liverpool Captain. Looking more and more like a holding player though, as Shelvey looks more like the player Gerrard was. Gerrard no longer has the speed or Guile he used to, very much a victim of his own success as Liverpool fan’s have come to expect Super Steve G. Score 7.0

Erinque: Played really well, getting in some good area’s. Was unlucky not to score. Will be interesting to see if he will be going as rumoured, as I think he has stepped up to the plate in recent games.

Henderson: Provided some energy and looked more comfortable in this role. However, he never really stood up to the plate and was rightly substituted with Downing. Score 6.0.

Suarez: Was a bit isolated up-front. Swansea handled him well. Made a few moments of brilliance. Score 7.0.

Joe Cole: Had no impact. Score 5.0.

Shelvey: Had no impact on the play per se, Had a pile-driver near the end. Something we’ve come to expect from Steven Gerrard. Score 6.5.

Tremmel:  Some good shot stopping on display. Didn’t put his body on the line as much as Renia hence the score. Score 8.0.

Rangel: Did well defensively, was very tidy and worked well in the unit. Score 6.0.

Williams: Looked very good indeed as he kept Suarez in check. Was on par with the Liverpool defenders. Score 7.5.

Chico: Looked alright, however he was caught sometime in bad positions. Maybe was a bit too adventurous as well. Score 6.0.

Davis: Was Solid. Score 6.0.

Routledge: In and out of the game. Posed a threat with his pace. Score 7.5.

Britton: Played really well, had great awareness and close control skills which made him a nuisance of Swansea going forward and also whilst defending. Score 8.0.

De Guzman: Didn’t think he had much of an impact. Rightly substituted for Ki.

Hendandez: Played really well, was a real threat with his foot-work and industry. Looked almost Suarez like. Score 8.0.

Michu: Provided threat with his presence. Never got into the game though was very slow, unlike his other team mates. Score 6.0.

Ki: Didn’t do anything special. Matched Joe Allen in the middle of the pitch. Kept his team ticking. Score 6.5.

Dyer: Was a good replacement for Routledge, almost straight swap. Provided great pace and a threat going forward. Score 6.5.
