Liverpool fans will feel slightly anxious ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League second leg clash with Bayern Munich as they’ve not exactly been at their best in recent times, with an exit from the competition possibly having a negative affect on their Premier League title push.
Although, one thing that is certain is the fact that Jurgen Klopp seems to constantly be on the look out for potential summer additions, with a familiar face propping up again.
What’s the news?
Bruno Fernandes is being watched by a number of Europe’s top clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
Liverpool are one of three teams who have reportedly (as per Record, via Goal.com) showed an interest in the Portugal international, with Atletico Madrid and AC Milan being the other two. But, no formal bid has been made.
It’s believed that Sporting Lisbon would not stand in the way of an exit for Fernandes should a suitable offer arrive.
It’s safe to say that Liverpool fans will be familiar with hearing Bruno Fernandes’ name having been linked with the midfielder an awful lot recently. He’s made a name for himself in Portgual in the current campaign having produced an impressive 24 goals and 13 assists, which includes two goals and two assists in his last two appearances, so it would make sense for the Reds to make an offer.
Indeed, the Reds are still yet to find a replacement for Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana has failed to have any kind of positive influence on the field in recent weeks, so there’s definitely a place for Fernandes at Anfield.
Many fans will agree that their side have lacked creativity in the final third at times this season and they could do with an extra goal threat, as the Reds’ deadly front three haven’t been at their dominant best.
Liverpool fans, could Fernandes be the man to finally fill the Philippe Coutinho void?
