Liverpool would be mad not to land £22.5m-rated enforcer ahead of potential title challenge

Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been delighted by the attacking intent their team have shown this season but again disappointed with the lack of consistency in defence, causing a large leakage of goals in the Premier League.

The Reds fans were hopeful that one £75 million Virgil Van Dijk would finish defensive vulnerabilities for good but, although they have improved with the big Dutchman their backline, the Reds have to revamp this area again this summer if they want to seriously challenge for the Premier League title.

One player thought to be of transfer interest to a Premier League side this summer is strong German centre-back Jonathan Tah, believed to be worth £22.50 million – according to Transfermarkt. Linked with a move to Tottenham, the Bayer Leverkusen defender has helped his side to five clean sheets this season and alongside, Virgil Van Dijk, could see a formidable partnership formed to stop any opposing threats.

Tah has been an imposing figure in Leverkusen’s defence for a few seasons now and a challenge of moving to the Premier League to prove his talent is an opportunity worth considering.

Liverpool, in truth, are one of the most in-form teams in football right now and if they can make the right additions to improve their rearguard for next season, then this could see them challenging for all competitions, not just the Premier League.

Their early season mistakes deeply affected their league chances this season but now that the Reds are starting to gel together a real menacing team and Jonathan Tah coming in could only improve their chances of further success in years to come.

The 22-year-old has time on his side and our landlord would love to see the big German in Liverpool red next season, believing that a tight-knit defence could make all the difference.
