Liverpool would send a major message to PL rivals with addition of £99m-rated superstar

According to a recent report from Tutto Mercato Web, Liverpool are interested in a summer move for Juventus superstar Paulo Dybala. The 24-year-old made the move to the Italian giants back in 2015 but could fall down the pecking order if Cristiano Ronaldo joins the Old Lady, a possible move which has since prompted Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to reportedly express an interest in the Argentina international.

And were the Reds to indeed seal a deal for the £99 million-rated ace (as per Transfermarkt) this summer, it would send a major message to their Premier League rivals that they are serious about a title challenge this season.

The Breakdown

Ultimately, the Merseyside giants deserve huge credit for sealing back-to-back top four finishes in the English top-flight, although on both occasions they never really contended for the title.

The Reds finished a hefty 23 points adrift of champions Manchester City last season and 17 behind Chelsea the campaign before to suggest they remain some way short of sustaining a title assault, and thus ending their wait for the league crown which dates back to 1990.

However, with Fabinho and Naby Keita through the door already this summer, Klopp is certainly building a squad which could bridge the gap to the Citizens this season – Dybala’s arrival would significantly aid in that quest.

The 24-year-old is one of the hottest properties in world football at present having netted a mightily impressive 68 goals in 140 matches for Juventus, 26 of which coming last term in their run to a seventh straight Serie A title, as well as the quarter finals of the Champions League.

Add in his 19 goals for Massimiliano Allegri’s side the season before, and indeed the 23 he netted in his first season in Turin back in 2015/16, and it’s clear that the Argentine is one of the most talented attackers in Europe at present, and looks set for a massive future in the game – to think he only played 22 minutes for Argentina at this summer’s World Cup is quite remarkable.

And in a Liverpool team that are irresistible and relentless going forward, Dybala could seriously flourish, and perhaps aid the Reds in their pursuit of major honours next season.

Significantly, sealing a deal of this magnitude would no doubt send out a huge statement of intent to their Premier League rivals ahead of the 2018/19 season that the Reds are ready to compete for the title.
