After Roy Hodgson’s dismissal life under Kenny Dalglish has started with two disappointing defeats. Now there looks to be a clear-out of dead wood with potential new faces coming in. The first person out the door is a shocking departure however.
Daniel Agger is been lined up by Fiorentina and Malaga for a measly £3m. I mean, he’s their best defender. Jamie Carragher a legend of Anfield is now past it and Martin Skrtel doesn’t seem the player he was when he first signed for the Reds either.
Why £3m for a player of his quality though? He’s had his injury problems and under Rafa Benitez he dropped down the pecking order but just ask true Liverpool fans and they will tell you they want to keep him. He should be part of there ‘revival scheme’ if you like.
Put a tough tackling, no nonsense centre back beside him and let him play, you will see the benefits as his confidence grows. For Fiorentina and Malaga however, he’s a great buy. Other clubs no doubt will be in the running for him especially at the price on the table. I could name many clubs in the premier league who would profit from having him in their team.
It’s up to King Kenny though who he buys and who he sells, he is football through and through, he knows his stuff so he now has to inject it into the players he has, just as he did all them years ago.With Damien Comolli scouting and feeding him possible targets maybe Liverpool might not get relegated? Maybe they can just avoid the drop by the skin of their teeth?
