Plenty of Manchester United fans have called for the club to make a move for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner next year, following reports linking the Old Trafford outfit with the 23-year-old.

The Daily Express claimed that United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has identified the Germany striker as a transfer target, with the Norwegian recently admitting to Sky Sports that he feels his squad is “one or two players light”.

Following those transfer reports, @utdrobbo on Twitter posted quotes from Werner, which originally appeared in an interview with FourFourTwo, saying that he dreams of playing in the Premier League and that he would rather sign for Manchester United than Liverpool – for whom he has been a long-term transfer target, according to the Daily Express.

He has been in excellent form for RB Leipzig this season, scoring eight goals in his first 11 matches of the campaign prior to this week’s Champions League games, twice as many as United’s top scorer Marcus Rashford from the same number of matches, as per TransferMarkt.

He has also made 2 key passes per game in the Bundesliga this term (as per WhoScored), showing he has the ability to create opportunities as well as finish them off.

These Manchester United fans on Twitter have called for the club to do whatever they can to bring Werner to Old Trafford:
