More brutal than Leicester 3-1 Liverpool… Reds hero and Foxes ace in savage exchange

Leicester and Liverpool fans have been going at one another non-stop in the Transfer Tavern since Monday night’s 3-1 win for the reigning Premier League champions when the sides met at the King Power Stadium, and it’s not just our punters giving one another the verbal treatment.

Indeed, Jamie Carragher and Danny Simpson have been battling on Twitter today in the wake of this seismic result, and it’s fair to say their exchanges have made great reading.

All kicked off by Simpson posting a picture of ‘Carra’ – a Liverpool hero – training in an Everton kit and suggesting Gary Neville, his Sky Sports punditry partner in crime, would not do the same in Manchester City’s colours, the bout got savage quickly.

Carragher leapt back by criticising Simpson and his team-mates for only putting in effort after Claudio Ranieri’s sacking, and the Leicester man then shot over a dig about the Kop idol never winning the Premier League title, which Simpson achieved last term.

From there Carragher jibed at his Manchester United roots, before the right-back fired back a picture of himself and Danny Drinkwater – two ex-Red Devils – holding the trophy, which irked the pundit again!

Anyway here are the tweets for your amusement…
