Neymar is a footballer we love in the Transfer Tavern, with the Brazilian attacker one of the best to watch when on form, so Liverpool being linked with a player who may just be the new version of the Barcelona superstar has been greeted with excitement.
Globo are reporting that Santos’ 16-year-old attacking ace Rodrygo has been the subject of an early offer from the Reds, who are seemingly eager to sneak in ahead of other European giants to nab the talented starlet early doors.
Rodrygo has been capped by Brazil’s U-17s and is considered to be one of his club’s most promising talents, but Santos have sold the likes of Neymar and Gabriel Barbosa in the not too distant past, so there is scope for Kopites to get excited.
However, as well as revealing that Liverpool have made an offer, Globo state that the South American heavyweights are planning to hand the youngster a professional contract that will put a hefty release clause in place, as well as securing him a significant salary.
However, the key component that may tempt Rodrygo is their plan to get him into the first-team set-up, which will surely appeal to the teenager as he looks to emulate the likes of Neymar, who played regularly for the Peixe before heading to Barca.
‘Why is he being likened to Neymar?’ has been a question asked in the Tavern… Well, the below video sums it all up!
