Liverpool fans will be pleased to see their summer signings make an excellent start to life at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp spent £170m on new talent in order to close the gap on Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title. Naby Keita has looked great against West Ham and Crystal Palace and is proving to be the perfect replacement for Philippe Coutinho. The Anfield faithful will also be pleased to see Alisson Becker put in an assured display against the Eagles. The Reds still have £40m signing Fabinho to welcome to the side.

Liverpool will now focus on offloading a number of fringe players to raise funds for the January transfer window. Ragnar Klavan has already departed for Caligari, and Loris Karius joined Besiktas on a two-year loan. Lazar Markovic and Divock Origi are set to follow them through the exit door.

With the funds they raise, Liverpool should make a January move to Stuttgart defender – Benjamin Pavard. Valued at £36m by Transfermarkt, the defender was sensational in his breakthrough season in the Bundesliga. He made 34 appearances and earned a place in France’s World Cup squad. His goal against Argentina was voted the strike of the tournament and Pavard played six times as France lifted the famous trophy against Croatia.

The 22-year-old would be an excellent addition to the Liverpool back four and the perfect partner for Virgil van Dijk. Pavard is a modern-day centre-back who loves starting attacks from the back - he averaged 3.2 long balls per game last season. The youngster reads the game expertly – no defender in the Bundesliga made more interceptions last season (WhoScored).

Pavard has attracted interest from all over Europe, so Liverpool need to move quickly to secure his services.
