‘Please get injured in training’ – Liverpool fans mixed in response to club’s fitness update

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping their side will continue their excellent run of form when they face Southampton this weekend.

Liverpool welcome Southampton to Anfield on Saturday afternoon chasing a third straight Premier League victory for the club following the international break. Klopp handed the players who weren’t selected for international duty a few days off from training last week before they reconvened on Friday to begin their pre-match preparation. The Liverpool fans propping up the bar here are hoping Klopp’s decision will pay dividends when players from rival clubs start to burn-out during the hectic Christmas schedule.

Liverpool’s captain Jordan Henderson, who missed his sides last outing away at West Ham with a thigh problem, is hoping to feature against the Saints after returning to full training on Wednesday.

The club shared Henderson’s words via their official Twitter page earlier today.

However, with Liverpool performing well in Henderson’s absence, the majority of Liverpool supporters on Twitter are happy to see their captain left on the bench this weekend.

A tiny minority of The Reds faithful are calling for their fellow supporters to show more support for Henderson, but the overriding feeling is that he should not be starting against Southampton.

Here’s what the fans had to say in response to the club post…
