Liverpool have made an electric start to the season as they remain unbeaten along with Man City and Chelsea.
Their huge spending spree over the summer has played a big part in their success so far but nevertheless, players who have been there for longer continue to shine for Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool’s stunning start to the season though maybe abruptly ended if transfer rumours are to be believed.
Spanish outlet Ok Dario are reporting that Barcelona are interested in signing another Brazilian from Liverpool, this time in the form of Roberto Firmino.
With the 27-year-old being such an important player for the Reds, what would the consequences of this potential move be?
Sturridge could get the chance to fill Firmino’s void
Daniel Sturridge on his day is a striker that will be hard to contain but his injury record has prohibited him from making a real impact under Jurgen Klopp.
This season the Englishman has so far scored four goals in nine appearances as he continues to make a statement as to why he should be given another chance permanently in the starting line-up.
With the doom and gloom of Firmino potentially leaving, the situation may not be alarming seeing as Sturridge could provide a quality alternative.
Title hopes tarnished
Despite only scoring two goals so far this season, Roberto Firmino would prove a massive miss for Liverpool and one that could potentially give the title away.
With the Reds posing a real threat to reigning champions Manchester City, they need all the quality they can get and losing such a significant player would only hinder their chances.
Firmino is a massive team player and he is a key contributor to attacking build up, he isn’t just about the goals meaning Liverpool would lose another complete player to Barcelona.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
