Liverpool will be confident that they can progress to the final of the Champions League this evening and thus set up a meeting with Real Madrid, with fans in the Transfer Tavern expecting their side to get a positive result.
The Reds defeated AS Roma 5-2 at Anfield last week, which has put them in pole position to be on the plane to Kiev – however, the locals will be aware of what threat the Serie A side pose this evening.
In the previous round, the Italian outfit knocked out Barcelona with a stunning home display after a shocking performance in the Camp Nou, and Reds chief Jurgen Klopp will be urging his players to make sure lightning does not strike twice.
The German has named a strong squad that travelled with him to the Stadio Olimpico, with ESPN’s senior football writer Mark Ogden confirming on Twitter that midfielder Adam Lallana has travelled, although it is expected that he will not feature on the night.

However, there is some encouraging news for Klopp’s side, as Ogden suggests that the 29-year-old ‘could’ still feature for Liverpool before the end of the season.
The former Southampton man has struggled with a number of injuries this year, and travelled to South Africa to see a specialist to deal with his latest hamstring problem.
Yet it appears that he could well return for the Reds before the end of the campaign, in news which is sure to delight Liverpool fans up and down the country, and even England manager Gareth Southgate ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
Landlord’s Verdict: The locals in the Tavern will be delighted that Lallana is edging his way back to fitness and still has an outside chance of playing before the end of the season.
Many of the punters will be hoping the midfielder gets a chance to impress Gareth Southgate before he names his England side for the World Cup, with many believing he would be amiss should he be available.
