Amid the vast array of attacking talent available to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, the club’s fans in the Transfer Tavern don’t quite know who to praise and when.
Amazing really, considering much of the last two years had been waiting for Daniel Sturridge to shake off his injuries to spearhead their attack.
Interestingly enough, while the England international represented such a beacon of hope for so long, many of the Reds propping up the bar believe he is now expendable.
So, reports emanating out of Italy suggesting the 27-year-old could well be on the move actually haven’t come as too much of a blow.
According to Calciomercato, the likes of Sunderland, Stoke City and West Ham are eyeing the former Chelsea and Manchester City man.
While he is clearly one of the best players in the league when in full flow, constant injuries have stalled his progress and have seen his stock drop.
With the likes of Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane available to Jurgen Klopp in a fluid frontline, the report suggests the German coach would not be adverse to Sturridge leaving.
Considering the current climate of attacking options on Merseyside, neither would the club’s fans it seems.
Does Sturridge have a future at Liverpool? What’s the next career move for him? Let us know below…
