It’s not often that fans in the Transfer Tavern can read reports suggesting their club are in for a realistic chance of landing a Real Madrid player, so you can well imagine the delight of the Liverpool fans in this evening.
That’s because, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via the Daily Mirror), the Reds have been handed a boost in attempts to land star midfielder Matteo Kovacic.
The Croatian international has found it hard to break the first-team in the Spanish capital since joining in a hugely expensive deal from Inter Milan last summer and is reportedly unhappy with the lack of chances.
Anfield chief Jurgen Klopp is understood to be keen on landing the 22-year old, who made just eight starts in the Spanish capital last term.
